In their plain, simple form, Bauhaus products are a design revolution. Form is completely subordinate to functionality, or in other words: form follows function. Many of the products developed by the Bauhaus, both in their original form and in their further development, are still an integral part of many households today, such as the cantilever chair, the Wagenfeld lamp or the Bauhaus wallpaper.
The two-seater from Josef Hoffmann's Kubus series is a stylish eye-catcher in residential and business premises. Together with the Kubus armchair and the Kubus three-seater, it creates a stylish seating group for reception halls and large living rooms.Josef Hoffmann's sofa is upholstered with a shape-retaining upholstery, covered with leather and, using a special sewing technique, shows numerous squares that form an overall picture. The purely geometric form of this Hoffman design was also a pioneer of Cubism, which reached its peak at the beginning of the 20th century.
